Memorial service for Mom

After speaking with a doctor today, we are confident that Dad will be able to attend a memorial service for Mom on the 27th of July. Here are the details:

Monday, July 27, 2009
11:00am
Mormon Center at Temple Hill
2100 California Circle
Rancho Cordova, CA

All are invited.

Dad's body continues to heal. He walks, talks, and eats a bit more each day (although the small amount of eating is still an issue; they started giving him meal supplements today). The main issues keeping him at the hospital are (1) the lack of a steady pain management regimen and (2) the weakness of his limbs and lungs. Now we wait. I think even Dad would agree that now, with the end in sight, the waiting isn't so difficult.

  1. This is wonderful news. We have so appreciated being able to keep up with President Wood's progress through your posts. Your posts have also helped us to know what to specifically pray for in his behalf. Each one has been so thoughtful and loving and we thank you for keeping it so current. We love your parents and ask the Lord to continue to bless your family with his tender mercies.
    Love, Scott & Susan Seamons

  2. Daniel,

We are so very grateful to you for your continued updates about your mom and dad. Our prayers are with you and your whole family. My husband, Ken and I will be at the memorial service, as well as my father, Don C. Wood Jr. So many hearts have been touched by your willingness to share your emotions with us. We love you all so much. As I sit here, writing this comment, the San Diego temple is right outside our window. I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that Heavenly Father is watching over you and your dad and that many prayers have been answered in your behalf.

When your dad is up to it, please let him know how much we love him and that in our family, hot fudge sundaes cure all! We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks. Thank-you again for your efforts to keep us informed about what is happening.

    Love always,

Ken Jordan, Regina Wood Jordan, and Don C. Wood Jr.

I really wish we could come to the service to support your family - I will try to come if I can but if we're not there, know that the Wadell and Moll families think about you guys daily and you're constantly in our prayers. So glad to hear your dad is doing well!!!
