Arrival at home

Dad was discharged from Kaiser yesterday. After a discussion with the doctor covering his case, Dad decided that it was time to come home. Some very special people have done amazing things to ensure that he is comfortable here. He is (and we are) infinitely appreciative.

We just finished our first breakfast together with Dad.

  1. I don't know your family at all, but have just spent an hour reading all these blog entries, and I am in tears. Tears of sorrow for the loss of your mom, tears of pain for what your father has had to endure, and tears of joy for the knowledge of eternal families. Thanks for sharing your hearts with all of us who have been following your story.

  4. I do hope you will be able to continue to post updates. So many of us would love to visit with your dad, but we know that the time is not yet. Your missives help us feel connected without intruding. And I hope it helps you, your family and your dad feel the love and concern we have for you all. Thank you!

  6. Although I don't know your family personally, we have some people in common. I've followed this blog since the first week and have ached with your family as you go through this ordeal. Many prayers have been offered up in behalf of your family, and now we see the fruits of those prayers with the continued improvements made by President Wood. Sister Wood will be greatly missed, I'm sure. Judging only by the small video of her heartfelt testimony, she appeared to be someone I would have greatly enjoyed being around. What a fine lady she was and still is. Many prayers continue for your family as you recover from the emotional and physical trial you're enduring right now. Be strong and keep going! :)

  10. Like many who know Kent, I have anxiously followed your wonderful blog, and am grateful to know of his progress. I want to somehow visit with him and somehow be of service--but I can also understand how overwhelming too many visitors can be. Sometime, I would like to share a special story about Elder Bednar's response to my dental partner's daughter's request regarding your family. Suffice it to say, the brethren are aware of your family and are praying for you as are we.
    Hang in there, Kent.

    Love, Mike Gade and family

  12. Dear Kent,
Welcome home. Sometimes your home will be too full, and sometimes it will be too empty. Know through all the times that you are loved by many. Eternal covenants are just that.
    Love,
    Cousin Janelle
