Note from Elisabeth Wood

Elisabeth, 32, is the oldest of the children. She sent me the following:

I'd like to thank every person who has shown kindness to our family. We've received many gifts, so much assistance, things that would be impossible to numerate or address individually. Please know that we are grateful for everything. Your support has lifted us. We can feel it. Thank you!

  1. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH President Wood. I LOVE ALL of your childeren especially enjoying growing up with your son Shawn in highschool and being blessed in the Lake Natoma Singles Ward by the prescence of your son Jason. Beside our Heavenly Father and His holy, sacred son, Lord Jesus Christ-and mine own father Ted-you are my true role-model. Until I was baptized in 2006, I knew you as our families' dentist and you knew me as the teen-age son of the couple whom helped design the interior of your home and Wood Family Dentistry; Now I am a Latter-Day Saint, you are my Stake President, Most importantly...you are and always have been, my true friend and dear brother. Just think, what a magnificent "Heavenly" family we are a part of, through Lord Jesus Christ! Mesmerizing... My family, whether on earth or in Heaven, is your family, Stake President Wood. Call upon myself or my dear mother, Vikki and my loving father, Ted, for anything:be it pertaining to the spiritual or to the temporal.

    Love eternal,

  2. Daniel, our entire family has been following your blog closely every day. Our daughter, Ashley, gives me updates, and it has been a humbling experience to read about your sweet parents (Your dad, Kent is my cousin). It is so wonderful to hear from Elisabeth, who is so beautiful-I haven't seen you guys in such a long time, but being a part of this amazing family is truly a blessing. It has been such a courageous thing for you to write this blog and share your most precious and tender emotions with all of us. I thank-you again so very much for being willing to keep us posted. Your dad, Kent, has always been such a wonderful example for all of us and we love him with all of our hearts. Give him a big hug and know that you are all in our hearts and prayers continuously.

  3. I am so glad to read of Kent's progress and to read each of your thoughts about your Mother. We now live in the Denver area, but we will be there Monday for the memorial service for Kathy. Thanks so much for keeping us informed and uplifted with your thoughts.

  4. We are so saddened by the loss of Kathy that it is hard to believe she is no longer with us. She was such a kind, caring and thoughtful person. She always made us feel important. She was so gifted in voice and music in general, but her greatest gift was the gift of loving people. She was a true saint in every aspect and had an aura about her that radiated the light of Christ. It has been a privilege and blessing to have known her. We are grateful for the knowledge we have of knowing we can be together forever.
Our prayers are with you and especially with your Father. He will need all of our support during this period of adjustment in his life. We pray for his quick recovery with his physical and emotional pain.
God Bless You all for uniting around and supporting each other in this horrible loss.

  5. Thank you so much for doing this blog- to you Daniel and your siblings who contributed... We have loved reading all of your insights. We just arrived home from the memorial service- Elisabeth & Daniel - you did wonderfully giving the eulogy and I'm SURE that everyone has told all of you boys what a FANTASTIC musical number that was! It was incredibly beautiful. As Kathy was the one who so often sang at other funerals, we wondered who would be able to sing at hers... You did such an incredible job - what a beautiful tribute to her! And to Kent- please know we still pray for you and we brought the love of so many from Antioch who could not attend - Debbie & Mark Davis, Cheryl & Steve Evans, Donn & D'Ann Hayes, Stew & Audrua Taylor, Dean & Debbie Brown, John & Jean Muir,.... the list could go on forever... We feel like you all belong to us and we want you to know we love you and will continue to pray for you...
Love always - Roger & Diedra Mahaffey - Antioch

  6. It's been a long time since our family has had contact with your family, but our family was so sad to hear of the accident. We as a family started remembering fond memories of the Wood family. Jenny loved being in the girls choir with your Mom. What a great family you are and an inspiration to us all. We have been following your Blog and thank you Daniel for keeping everyone informed.

  7. Thank you to all of you, Daniel. We are all blessed by the examples of your mother and father. We continue to pray for President Wood in his recovery. The service today was a wonderful tribute to your mother's memory and we are glad to have known her and learned from her in this life. We know we will all enjoy her association when we are called to join her and other loved ones when our time here is done. God bless you and your siblings and, of course, your father.
