It is my hope that this blog will give hope and comfort. It was in the spirit of that hope that I focused only on the positive aspects of Dad's health in the last update. I still want to keep this focus, but I think I should have mentioned some of the more difficult issues Dad is facing. He is still in critical condition: he hasn't made very much progress with his ventilator in the last day or two, the doctors think he has group acquired pneumonia (which they think is the cause of his fever), and he has been in a constant state of tachycardia (average heart rate of 130) since Friday. If you pray, please continue to pray for our father.
We love and appreciate all of you.

Thank you for the updates. I understand the desire to keep things positive, to focus on the good, and to have hope. It is a blessing that in spite of awful happenings, we are still able to focus on those tender mercies. I also appreciate your honesty and candid updates as well. After our accident Traci and my mom started posting specific problems or issues we were having that needed specific attention and prayers. It was miraculous to see how those specific requests were answered and the improvements we sought after were taking place. I am sure that as you continue to keep people up to date, you will have constant support, prayers, and specific petitions sent to our Heavenly Father.
ReplyDeleteThank you for keeping thing updated. I worked for Kent many years before he retired and he is like family to me. It has been hard not seeing him but I know he has a lot of family there right now. He is in our thoughts
ReplyDeleteThank you Daniel for the update. Your Dad and I have been friends since we were 12 years old. We have countless memories together growing up and were college roommates at BYU. I remember when he fell in love with your Mom while on a Stone and Wood family vacation during our freshman year at BYU. I love Kent and Kathy and both families. Kent and your family and the Stone family have been constantly on my mind and in my prayers since I heard of the accident last Saturday. Please express my love and concern to your Dad.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Dan Challis
Thank you so much for the update. Your mom was such a great support to me when I was going through some hard times as a youth. I was in the productions of "Come to the House of the Lord" and "From Cumorah's Hill" and during both your mom was so helpful and loving. She taught me so much about how the spirit of the Lord can be brought into our lives more fully by music.
ReplyDeleteWe will continue to pray for your Dad. He has always held a special place in our hearts as well.
Thanks,
Nancy & Will Hale
I hold both Kathy and Kent very dearly in my heart. Several years back I was the office manager in Folsom and came to know Kent & Kathy on a personal level as well. Kathy sang a beautiful song and Kent performed the Ceremony at my wedding in Traci & Keith's Back yard. I love them both so very much and send my prayers to all of their family and friends. Their kindness to me will NEVER be forgotten. With love Dee St John
ReplyDeletePlease know that we are devastated by the happenings of last weekend. I am Kent's Uncle Don (his father's older brother). I work almost every day in the San Diego Temple and be assured I am keeping their names on the Prayer Roll in this Temple. We want you all to know that we will do our best to do anything you think we can do to help out,
ReplyDeleteLove, Uncle Don
We so appreciate the updates. Not knowing is so much harder to take. You are all in our prayers, especially your dad, constantly.
ReplyDeleteYour parents are special special people.

ReplyDeleteDear Wood family,
ReplyDeleteYour father's name is on the prayer roll here in the Albuquerque temple. Our thoughts and prayers are with each member of your family. The blessings of eternal families are in place at this time ~ it is our prayer that you will feel the peace which passes all understanding.
Your dad and his brother, Keith and sister Michele are the same ages of my older brother Jim Harvey, myself and my younger brother, Mark Harvey. We attended Seminary and high school with your dad and his siblings. We think the world of your family.

ReplyDeleteI don't have a Google account to respond to Daniel's blog. If you'd like to respond FOR us and tell him we are so grateful that he chose to do a blog for his Dad. And YES - we Do pray, and have been praying for Kent and his family. We will continue to do so. This is one of those "hard things." May they feel our Savior's love as well as the peace that comes only from Him, from our Heavenly Father and through the Holy Ghost - when peace isn't "logical." Thanks. Love, Zina
